Event Description

You are invited to join the national conversation “experiment” on Poverty and Wealth in America, now underway…

Through the end of October, the Conversation Collaborative is hosting a “deconstructed World Café” on the theme of “Poverty and Wealth in America,” in partnership with the National Dialogue Network.

A focus on the connection between race, poverty and wealth has emerged out of Round One, which has already taken place. Round Two runs from 10/6-10/15. A third round will run from 10/16-10/31, and will most likely continue to explore the race theme. Note that part of the experiment is that participants can come in at any time, so it's fine if you missed round One.

Here is the Round Two question:

How might an exploration of the relationship between race, poverty and wealth in America help us to examine our own beliefs, understand those of others and discover new possibilities together?

The dialogue is also taking place via interactive conference calls on 10/12, 10/29 and 10/31, in addition to our online venue using the "hackpad" platform.

You are also invited to convene your own small group live (either in person or virtually) or on one of our "hackpads." Click here to learn more and get started now.

Yes--personal outreach is clearly key. Thanks for the extra promo boost!

It sounds fascinating to me! I've just put it up on the front page of the weDialogue site as well. I think the interest is there, but you may need to do more personal reaching out to make sure people know about it.

It always surprises me when invitations for virtual WCs go out to this community and get limited response. I would have thought that the connection between race, poverty and wealth would spark some interest, as would an experiment in the notion of "deconstructing" a WC. I''d lvoe to extend a personal invite to anyone who is curious about this.  Message me and let's talk!
