I participated my first World Cafe yesterday (UIC, Becoming Wiser Together).  It was a wonderful experience..
I'm convinced that the World Cafe community can be a catalyst for a #CompassionateCitizens Movement.
We envision 30 million #CompassionateCitizens in the U.S., coming together in Meetups, having respectful dialogue-across-diversity, and embracing three memes associated with an inclusive, compassionate culture, democracy, and economy:
1. A culture of compassion/peace
2. A wiser/deliberative democracy
3. A triple bottom line economy
The vision is to unite a million "silos of compassion" around a single idea -- the vast majority of us embrace compassion and citizenship as important values.
We believe that having a sufficient, public tally of support for 3 movements (via membership in perhaps 10,000 #CompassionateCitizens Meetup groups) could provide the critical mass to politically and economically empower our collective wisdom and compassion.
I invite all in the Chicagoland World Cafe Community, to connect with me.
[See, which was the inspiration for establishing Compassionate Citizens Foundation.]
All existing, mission aligned civic engagement projects and cafes can operate under the #CompassionateCitizens umbrella, with Meetup as a platform that facilitates both online and face to face interaction.
Collaboration between silos and visibility (public awareness) are surely two keys to accelerating the movement for a world that works for all.
