Would love to get your insights on this case study. The results have been far better than anyone on the leadership team could have imagined. I of course am not at all surprised. Here is how the case study starts if you would like to know what it is before you open it.
Case Study for Leadership Intervention
History
This site has experienced what is common in business units, operational and support management were not working well together. The site has a history of division between the teams and this division had escalated during the last quarter of 2009 and on through February of 2010. I have been at the site for over three years and the relationship between the teams has always been a bit rocky but it certainly took a down turn during these two quarters.
I wrote to our GM in February and expressed my concern that the teams were separated and did not have a framework to work together and without this being solved, the situation would not improve. He responded by giving the senior leadership team a project to permanently solve the rift in the teams and begin to work together towards a common goal. I was assigned as the project lead. We had three weeks to solve this perplexing and pervasive problem.
