Hosting Conversations about Questions that Matter
I would love some input from any of you who have tried to map the climate change issue to feeed into an MIT collaborative intelligence crowd-sourcing project that I am part of the crowd on: http://climatecolab.org/web/guest/home . I have suggested that in order to properly break the problem up, one needs to have a conceptual model of what needs to change in the current status quo.
For example the solution may require: a political dimension, a human behavioral dimension, a scientific dimension, an economics dimension and etc. (or something like this), and within each dimension e.g., drilling down into political: what are the important sub elements.
Once this conceptual work is done, it would be possible to link things and find common solutions/approaches and etc. The whole question sounds very well suited to World Cafe exploration and I suspect this has been partly covered before...,
so please if anyone has experience to share that would be appreciated.
Also, I have suggested to the MIT group that they consider a WC, and I would love to have a conversation with anyone who could give me some insight about practicalities, and tips on 'selling' the idea of hiosting a WC.
Thanks!
