Hosting Conversations about Questions that Matter
Hello everybody,
I've signed in to the World Café Online Community only last week. First of all I'd like to thank the creators of www.theworldcafe.com for this great website.
I have a question concerning "world café as a game". Within our company we're planning an event for the 20th anniversary with approx. 150 guests (mostly businessman and -women).
I'd like to play a game with them in order to accelerate and facilitate communication between everybody. As it will be a gala dinner i won't stress them with any business topics.
Is there any experience using the world café idea for a game?

Hi Claudia,
What kind of game might it be? I'm not sure where it has been used that way before....but one of the main features of Cafe Etiquette is for people to have "serious fun"-- drawing on the table clothes, moving from table to table etc....I'm sure it would lend itself for that purpose....you might want to post this question on the Methods of Strategic Collaboration group--that has members with a lot of varied experience....to see how they might weigh in.
With warm regards,
Juanita Brown
Permalink Reply by Crystal Hopper on December 16, 2011 at 2:41pm I was thinking about this also. Some of my thoughts were to follow an idea and find out who originated it and give them a prize. If you allow tabletop drawing then you could vote on best drawing and give a prize.
