Hosting Conversations about Questions that Matter
I am a practicing elementary art teacher who lives in rural Pennsylvania. I have a heavy background in art education and just completed my master thesis on, "Designing Flow Through Art" which incorporated the process of design thinking at an elementary art setting.
I recently attended a World Cafe event bringing together my school district and several community members. During the event, I participated as the visual recorder. Afterwards, it was brought to my attention that there may be workshops/training available for further learning on how to intercept, interpret, and better capture ideas, etc.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any upcoming workshops in the United States?
Best,

Permalink Reply by Crisha Luttenberger on February 2, 2012 at 9:52am I'm only an hour and a half at most from Philadelphia. I was just there at the beginning of January visiting old college friends. I live just outside of Lancaster, Pa.

Permalink Reply by Sandy Heierbacher on February 6, 2012 at 2:44pm Hi, Michele and Crisha! I'm in the Harrisburg, PA area. I'd love to get together with dialogue types who are based in Pennsylvania. I work nationally, not locally, so I'm always in front of my computer and don't meet enough people who live near me who do this work. I run the National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation (NCDD), which is a network of about 1500 organizations and professionals who work in public engagement and community problem-solving.

Hi Crisha -
I regularly offer World Cafe workshops in my region (Pacific Northwest) and also in other parts of the country, usually as part of a "capacity building" social change contract of one kind or another. I would be happy to share a design with you. And would love to come do it, but probably neither of us can afford the travel expense...Most recent experience was last week with 50 participants in Bellingham WA, a four hour workshop that include a Cafe experience and then work on various aspects of design and question-shaping.
