hello Bay Area Group - an introduction to your newest member :)
Hello!
I heard about World Cafe from a relative (Barb) in Palm Harbor, FL who is very active in a weekly World Cafe event they hold in a local Starbucks. Barb has been raving about the process used and keys me in on the weekly question/topic they are discussing. I feel like I am an extended member of that Cafe, just from the discussions I have weekly on their discussion topics, methods followed, etc.
It all sounded quite fascinating, so I perused the website here hoping to find some local World Cafe's I could start attending. I had not realized they were so self-organized and that some or most were private. Amy Lenzo was kind enough to set be straight and suggest I join the Bay Area Group and reach out this way :)
I look forward to learning more about World Cafe and hopefully meeting some of you at local events.

Welcome!
We host a weekly world cafe at UC Santa Cruz when school is in session, that's late Sept-early June. This fall it will be Monday nights 6:30-9pm at the Kresge Student lounge. We'd love to see you there! - Dave -

I live in Oak and work in SF, so SC is a bit of a haul for me. Will keep it in mind and might make it down sometime. :) -

You will really love Dave Shaw if you can go down to Santa Cruz to meet him --or arrange to meet half-way. He's a great resource on the World Cafe and has been doing amazing things both in the community and on campus.
