Hosting Conversations about Questions that Matter

Kia ora folks,

As the creator and therefore host of this group, I have been mulling over what might the most witty, talented, inspiring and thought provoking conversation topic I could post. All this pressure did of course create a mental block until voila I decided to ask something I really wanted to know....which is (drum roll please)

How can we have some fun with this group?!!!

I for one would like to get the ball rolling by posting a picture of my great friend and colleague Jo and I at our recent 'business planning' meeting facilitated using a mix of WPPF, open space and at some level or another, World Cafe! As you can probably see, we had a lot of fun....but the session was also incredibly productive and exciting as we shared our vision our future work together.

I invite you to post photos or share stories of any similar (or not) experiences you have had recently that have made you giggle, laugh, smile inwardly or just plain chortle.

Yours in anticipation,
Janine @ Longlive Cafe Australasia

And the bad news is.....I can't find the pic's that actually have Jo in them. Really, I wasn't at this workshop on my own I swear! Though as they say in open space, whoever comes is the right people so it doesn't really matter on the day. Jo is a new member of this forum and has all our pics from the day, I will hunt down another. Best, J
hi just want to say i am replying --Im also mulling over possibilities
guess the event to share is that Ive been supporting a work team create harmony and being passionate about what they do and after thinking/judging them as being rather blinkered one person gave me the feedback that they new I was there as a healer and thanked me --watch out Diane for judgement calls I figured.
Thanks for sharing Diane, sounds like you are part of some wonderful work. I sometimes find it all too easy to fall into the trap of making assumptions about how others perceive things. Particularly as I go forward with my work with Holistica. I often have to catch myself from assuming that people are going to think I am nuts with all this holistic, spiritual stuff! In truth, people surprise me time and time again with their openess and I have come to realise I am often projecting my own fears on to them. Lots of learning there, I look forward to hearing more about your work.
Kia ora, and thanks for sharing the great pics and drawings. I too work in organisation development - this holistic and spriritual way of working actually has quite a history in New Zealand via indigenous models of thinking and working ... check out the organic leadership model here:

Hi Sue,

I was really excited to check out the Tipu Ake link, thanks so much for sharing it with us. I need to go back and have a proper read.

I used to work for the Aotearoa NZ Peace Foundation Youth Program in Otautahi/Christchurch when I first graduated. We were privileged to be part of some wonderful learning hosted by the local runaka (Te Runaka ki Otautahi o Kai Tahu) around Te Tiriti and building honest, healthy treaty-based relationships and more holistic ways of working. We were also challenged to go back to our organisations and implement our learnings, which the three of us did with much enthusiasm! It was great and a huge learning curve for us.

I look forward to connecting about this topic further in the future!

Warm wishes,
Janine
