On May 8th (Mother's Day in the US) I had the pleasure of hosting an online World Cafe as part of the 2011 Inspiring Women's Summit produced by the Shift Network.
Our event was called "What do we Choose to Mother: A World Cafe Exploring how we use our Nurturing Energies" and we started with a round table of three generations of women - Juanita Brown, her mother Millie Cowan, and Ashley Cooper - talking about their choices about what they want to nurture in their lives.
The very talented Andrea Medina was our graphic recorder and she captured the following comprehensive record of the event in five parts - the first one is of the three conversation starter introduction to the session by sharing their own responses to the Cafe questions, the second is a brief overview of Cafe Etiquette and the results of a demographics poll we took, and the third and fourth are representations of the event's harvest. The final graphic is the poem Ashley Cooper wrote and read as part of our final thank yous for the session. (An mp3 audio recording of the 2 hour event is also attached below)
