We are working on a "World Cafe as Research" book now with Fielding Graduate University! How wonderful to hear of your interest in this area.
The book should be out in 2019 - we'll be sure to share the news when…"
Please indicate your World Café experience (ONLY IF YOU HAVE ACTUAL WORLD CAFE EXPERIENCE) in one or more of the following roles:
I'm New to the World Cafe
If you are new to the World Cafe, would you please share how you heard about this community?
I came across a reference to it in an article by Stan Gilmour on a public health approach to policing in Reading, UK
What field is the primary focus of your World Café work (ONLY CHECK AREAS WHERE YOU ARE ALREADY ACTIVELY USING WORLD CAFE PLEASE)?
What knowledge, skills or resources would you like to contribute to the World Café community to help it grow and flourish?
My background is in qualitative research so I hope to use these skills to make conversations happen and to use a community approach to find solutions to problems.
What would you most like to receive from this community?
I'm looking for ideas to help foster cross sector conversations about how we best deal with childhood adversity which is the root cause of anti-social and criminal behaviour, mental and physical ill health and a great deal of unhappiness across the life span.
What I have done so far? I work as a consultant facilitator for a charity that tries to educate and support first time parents to give their child the best start in life. I also work voluntarily for a charity working to reduce child maltreatment / adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) in order to reduce the amount of violence in our world. When children are treated with disrespect and violence they learn to disrespect and to be violent.
