Thanks so much for the comments so far. As i see it our nation is in deep trouble, what we are seeing in the economy is just the symtoms to much deeper problems regarding the roots of our society. it is interesting to me, that if you cut a branch off a tree, or even cut the top of the tree off, the tree will survive and continue to live. But, if you uproot it for too long, it cannot survive. i think our nation is undergoing and uprooting of many sorts. This is a time of re-evaluating, who we are, what we believe, how we have lived and how we have loved or fellow man. We must also repent of our own ways I believe there is a G-d who is watching all the things that we do here on planet earth. let us give a good accounting of our actions!

This is a great question Alane. Thanks for asking it, and I hope you'll share more of your own thinking on the subject as well.

It's hard to know what will happen, but it seems to me that we have run out of energy (on all sorts of levels) for the economic model in which there is an insatiable need for "more" ... always measuring success by how much "more" can be extracted - more profit, more development, more growth. Put simply, it's greed, sanctified by a economic system that rewards profit above all else.

But I sense change in the air.

If we can turn to each other in a more bio-sympathetic model where we begin to discover the ways we can work together in harmony with our circumstances and the environment, I think we can find a way forward for our nation and for our world. I'm excited to see that happening and being supported by powerful men and women who want to see the change I do.

In the meantime, there is a lot of heartbreak and loss that goes along with the change and dissolution we're seeing in the world around us. A lot of people without work and too much debt, afraid of losing what they have.

I hope this coming time will be one of compassion where we help each other through the change as best we can. Sometimes hardship can be strengthening for a nation, and if that's what is before us, I hope we meet it with grace and kindness for each other.

I feel that the next 60 month is up to mankind attidue,thinking. toward God, toward each other, toward our Earth I feel that we must change to a more postive outlook. out faith for the future
