Molly here... I'm pleased to sign on and look forward to hearing about event announcements and discussions. I'm a consultant and fan of World Cafe, having been part of this process numerous times in my organizational consulting work and volunteering here in Nova Scotia.
Thanks Benjamin for your welcome - a lovely surprise. I am working on more information and a photo for my profile. I recently attended a 3 days session on the Art of HOsting and Harvesting Conversations with Success Works here in Melbourne with 3 others in my team. We are very keen to start using some of the new tools and methods we've learnt.
Dear Benjamin Thank you for your kind welcome. Coffee in Cph late summer sounds good! At the moment I am focussing on how to adress thoughts, visions and projects about mind-shift in main-stream media. I have gathered a group around me with Bente Milton, Peter Engberg, Toke Paludan Møller, Anne Christine Hagedorn and Thomas Davidsen - very talented folks. Look them up. What is your interests and focus? Helle
Thank you Benjamin for your welcome into the world cafe community.
Tomorrow morning I will be hosting my first world cafe type gathering... 80 managers who will be coming together to discuss the newly defined company values. I have 12 senior managers hosting tables, I have 3 important questions that I hope they will also find important, I have flip chart paper galore, colored pencils and magic markers, colored post its and various other materials that I hope will seduce them into talking openly and sharing with one another their thoughts, feeling and concerns regarding these values.
I'm a little concerned about the harvesting piece and hope I will be able to help them reach meaningful outputs, but whatever happens - the process itself will be important, Anyway - at this point, I have to have faith that all will go well... will keep you posted!
Thank you for your kind welcome. I was sent the way of the World Cafe by a colleague who thought I would enjoy the goings on, but do not know very much about what kinds of work and/or serious play members are engaging in here. Would you tell me a bit more about the Cafe?
Thank you for your warm welcome Benjamin. It's great to be here.
I will introduce myself shortly.
To answer your question about World Leadership Day. Yes, I am involved. I am the founder and global director of World Leadership Day, launched in March 2007 in Sydney Australia.
I was first introduced to World Cafe by our World Leadership Day Ambassadors of France and Singapore - it is a powerful process to faciliatate leadership dialogue across gender, generations and cultures - a perfect fit for us.
Personally I have used the World Cafe conversation process for the first time at our 2011 Australian World Leadership Day event. It was wonderfully engaging and the feedback was positive. Our oldest participant was an Aboriginal Elder age 85. She loved it.
I look forward to participating in any way I can and to learn and share.
Thanks Benjamin! That's very kind. Yes I have to get some more info in my page.. I am working at a proposal at the moment and soon will find the moment for doing that.
By the way, are you are of any conversation going on around urban green areas management, identity politics and power-dynamics?
Thanks.. it will take a little to get used to this platform. Cheers!
Hi Benjamin, I'm feeling a bit lost. Can't find: where the harvest recordings of the April 1 21st century conversation is...if they are somewhere... and also can't find where the questions for the next Cafe are being voted on...
A Small Group (ASG) is a community of practice (Cincinnati, OH) that practices Peter Block's 6 conversations methodology (among others).
I will share in my intro about my "bright spots"
Question: from the last 3 hour conversation; can we track down who was in our group? Our session ended abruptly; we had a great conversation...didn't share. Not sure if tech/program will allow for that...
not sure where to put it so hope you don't mind me sharing this link to David Korten's presentation here on "Agenda for a new economy- from phantom wealth to real wealth" that he did for the International Society of Sustainability Professionals the other night. http://ow.ly/4pLR7 he is the author who coined the term "the great turning"
hi Benjamin, thanks for leaving a message for me. i haven't put anything online on systemic community action learning design yet. thanks for the poke, i'll give it some thought.
AWESOME! If you have any positive feedback that would be great to hear as I am about to approach the foundation that gave us the funds for the articles to see if they want to fund more of our work! Here's the other one about how the Art of Hosting practices have impacted Columbus, Ohio: Hero to Host
Hi Benjamin - nice to hear from you...and it would be SO nice to see you sometime along the way...but our paths are moving us in different directions for now. Yes I will offer some more as an intro here - but did not want to multi task to much when in the convo tonight - but wanted to post the calls to action. Will do so in the coming days. And will cross post from Ax-Av - thank you. Much love to you, Sarah
Well, aren't you just everywhere, Benjamin? Good to be connected, here, there and everywhere (as the Zapatistas say). This morning's teleconference was super amazing. Great technology! And Lex and I were just talking about you a few moments ago. You should see an e-mail from her with some ideas for working together this summer. I think you should not expect a naked picture from her, however. not really her style!
Hi Benjamin. Thank you for the welcome. I appreciate that. I'm so pleased to be a part of this community. I just participated in the 3 hour conversation today (4/1) and can't figure out how to see the names of the 150 or so folks who were on the call. Two of then asked me to contact them. I have their last names.
technical difficulties on my end with sound prevented me from participating fully this morning so I hope it went well! I just signed onto Skype last night so you may have received a message to call me (please disregard, it was an inadvertent blast message!). I also just signed onto World Cafe . . . more information/updates will come over the next week.
If you appreciate the World Café and what this community space makes possible, please make your contribution - large or small - to the World Café Community Foundation now.
