Comment by Amanda Fenton on July 27, 2012 at 8:23am Thanks Marxe! I had The Lotus but not The Weave. Lovely!
Comment by Marxe Urteaga on July 27, 2012 at 7:59am Have you read The Weave? it's a guidance for sustainability practitioners. I found this inspiring quote from our friend, Toke.
“The gift of good process is that it allows people to be in learning together. The gift of content is that it gets work done. When you have these two together, you get good results.”
– Toke Paludan Møller, Art of Hosting
If you haven't read it yet, don't miss it!!

Comment by Marxe Urteaga on July 11, 2012 at 6:47pm Hello everyone?
I hope you are enjoying the summer!
I'd like to bring to your attention a new feature of the site, the Nearness radar, that allows you to filter the members that are near to you. You can use it by clicking here: http://www.theworldcafecommunity.org/page/nearness-radar
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions (or if you are near Montreal and would like to chat).
Best,
Marcela
Comment by Marxe Urteaga on February 14, 2012 at 5:06pm Hi everyone,
I hope you are having an amazing day! I would like to share with you this event from the ALIA Institute. http://aliainstitute.org/blog/track/how-the-world-is-changed/
How the World Is Changed
Seeing and Shifting Patterns in Systems, June 18-22 in Halifax.
Comment by Marxe Urteaga on September 22, 2011 at 6:43pm Hello everyone,
I received this invitation for Alia's world twitter café. I'm adding part of the email and the file I received:
It will be facilitated live by Amelie Daigle and Colin Robertson along with Patrick Rivard and another colleague.
They will also hold similar cafés in Quebec and Chicoutimi in subsequent weeks, hoping to be able to draw participants to follow the journey with them through Twitter.
Below is the information that you need to know to attend physically - the cost is $25. The week of, Colin will send out the Twitter hash tag (a sort of spontaneous commons) you need to follow on Twitter to be part of the conversation - that hashtag will then be used for the subsequent cafés, a final debrief, and then based on interest a continued forum for innovation. Participation on Twitter is free, of course.
The world café will be in French. The Twitter café will take place in both French and English. There will be screens in the room where participants will be able to see the scrolling conversation happening in parallel, and each table will have a host that will feed twitter with interesting insights from that table.
So please let our admin organizer Marie-Claude Fortier know if you'd like to attend physically, and let me know whether you'd like to attend virtually. They will be sending out a welcome letter a week in advance.

Comment by Marxe Urteaga on August 22, 2011 at 6:38pm Hello, how is everyone? I hope we are all enjoying the summer. Anyone in Montreal interested in having a coffe with me? I would love to talk about your experiences/needs with The World Cafe.
Or drop me a line if you would like to talk online.

Comment by Marxe Urteaga on February 15, 2011 at 7:15pm Hi Ernest,
Thank you for your answer. We will have 4 more sessions on the following dates: February 19 and 26 and March 12 and 19, all of them at 9.00 am EST time. I would like to finish with some kind of final product, let's say a blog, a list of books or recommendations or something that help us to be more effective change agents.
The other thing I would request is to fill a survey at some point of the process, to assess my communication and collaboration skills. There will be 5 other participants, from Austria, Germany, US, Mexico and perhaps Colombia. We haven't defined all the topics yet, but they could be our experiences as interveners (this would be next Saturday), obstacles for change, resources for effective change, etc.
If you add me on facebook (Marxe Urteaga), I can invite you to the group I created there.
Thank you,
Marcela
