Profile Information

Please indicate World Café experience in one or more of the following roles.
I'm New to the World Cafe
If you are new to the World Cafe, would you please share how you heard about this community?
A colleague from the Panasonic Foundation, Tony Rollins, has talked about the World Cafe when I worked with him years ago. I did not realize it was an on-line community, just thought it was a dialogue process. Now, I have been living as an American expatriate in Western and Central Europe. I will love talking, in English, to others!
In what field is the primary focus of your World Café work?
n/a
What knowledge, skills or resources would you like to contribute to the World Café community to help it grow and flourish?
#1 Facilitation skills, including experience in facilitating Virtual Cafe/Forum discussions on-line among different nationalities. #2 Experience living as an expatriate in two foreign countries where English is not commonly spoken. #3 Work as a global facilitator for an international corporation facilitating learning and leadership development for people from dozens of different countries scattered across all continent except Antartica --of course!
What would you most like to receive from this community?
Deeper understanding of other nationalities, their perspectives on their own country in relation to other countries; their views of history and its impact on current culture -- pluses and minuses. I am especially interested in managerial/leadership development among young women, particularly in countries where traditional gender roles create special challenges for emerging female leaders.

Hi Patricia, a warm welcome to this Community of Learning and Practice.

The World Café is primarily a social technology, this online space serves to create and foster community around it and share questions, inquiries and learnings...

Great inquiry you are holding on the understanding one's own and other nationalities - please feel free to start a conversation around that issue - maybe in the "Open Thread"?

And please feel invited to write an introduction about yourself here.

Please let me know if i can help you here, best wishes,
Benjamin [Global Communications Team]
