This space is to support the online Conversations for the 21st Century series between sessions as a place to continue the conversations started on the calls, connect with one another, and share resources pertinent to session topics. It is also a place to harvest insights and "seeds" to carry forth from each session.
Please feel free to respond and start a conversation on any relevant topic.
Background context and more information on the series can be found here.
Conversations for the 21st Century are produced by World Cafe Online Services partner weDialogue and sponsored by the World Cafe Community Foundation.

Comment by Amy Lenzo on August 21, 2012 at 9:17am Welcome, Elaine!
Tell me a little about what interests you about this group or this idea. It's been a while since the last public Conversation for the 21st Century, but I've been hosting similar conversations for different groups and really love the medium and format.

Comment by tanapaddock on January 6, 2012 at 12:13am I'd like to share a project that helps to continue and deepen the virtual world cafe conversation that was held in September- "What is moving and awakening around the world?". It's called Taking the Revolution Forward and it explores how the experience of community and direct democracy that has been so strongly felt in recent revolutionary movements can be sustained and deepened as these movements begin the longer institutional walk of reinventing society. Initial contributions include reflections from Motaz Attalla in Egypt, Anthi Theiopoulou and Sarah Whiteley in Greece, Aydin Yassemi in Iran, and Baijayanta Mukhopadhyay in Canada. Thanks! -Tana

Comment by Ben Roberts on April 1, 2011 at 2:12pm I want to echo Amy's comments below--it was really special to begin this series with a conversation on Community, and to be graced with the insights and generous spirits of our conversation starters. I can't wait for our next call--Collaboration for the 21st Century-- which will be on May 20th and features our very own Juanita Brown along with other special guests TBD. There's an early registration link on the weDialogue website. Hope to see y'all there.
Meanwhile, please post your harvest "seeds" and "Call to Action" resources using the two threads listed above so we can continue to benefit from all the juicy energy that was just released!
Comment by Amy Lenzo on April 1, 2011 at 2:01pm Thank you all for being part of this launch of the Conversations for the 21st Century series... a special thanks to our conversation starters and special guests (and our tech support Vic Desotelle) who helped make everything work so well.
Ben and I had a wonderful time hosting... we both look forward to the next session, and to what emerges from our conversations here in the World Cafe online community in between them. Welcome!
Warmly,
Amy
During a conversation about simple acts of courtesy in community, someone else's wisdom stuck with me...
"Small ripples create a tidal wave of loving kindness".

Thank you, Tracy!
