Apologies for the slight delay in reply(!) - only just found this part of the message board... embarrassed to admit it to you.
Your work with the UK/Czech students is very similar to work I have been involved in with a Swedish academic action learning colleague - exploring their perceptions of young peoples services in Sheffield and comparisons with Sweden. However, due to recent cuts the funding for this area has gone. Consequently I have taken it upon myself to continue the valuable conversations with the Swedish students who are now entering roles in youth services in Sweden. I am committed to this process and not going to allow the current UK policies to diminish the importance of this work.
A contact in the UK doing something similar would be valuable . Thank you.
In respect of empowered spaces my doctoral thesis challenged the orthodoxy around empowerment, namely that it is something that can be 'done' to someone. My research over a number of years (1997-2004)indicated that it was about the quality of the spaces created that occupants of that space were able to be empowered. These qualities were complex and relational but did have person-centred elements. I have subsequently written in this area. My website, www.aspectsassociates.co.uk, has details of those publications, some of which can be accessed online. If you have any problems get back to me. Hope we can continue this dialogue and it is not just twice a year! The time delay from here in Yorkshire to Munich is a real problem :) kind regards
Brendon
mein "accept" kommt spät, weil ich krank war und erst jetzt meine Pendenzen ausarbeiten kann.
Ich habe im Sinn, die WC-Technik in Zürich für ein Netzwerk anzuwenden.
Liebe Grüsse
