【New Horizon for the world Forest】
The forests in the world play a significant role in resolving the 21st century issue of Global Warming and many other environmental issues. The World KIKORI Forum is an opportunity to create new ways of relating to the forests of the world in dialogue with KIKORI – i.e. people who love forests, people who live and work in forests, and people who care about them.
We intend to create new possibilities for our relationship with forests so that we can leave a sustainable planet to future generations.
【The World Kikori Forum】
The World KIKORI Forum will be held once a year in a forest somewhere in the world. There, KIKORI will gather to share various viewpoints, experiences, knowledge and wisdom about the forest and then have a dialogue to co-create new futures for our forests. We believe that powerful inquiry can create new futures – for us, and for the forests of the world. Once a year, we will visit a special forest in the world; a forest with vigorous energy from the ancient times, one full of biodiversity, or suffering from ‘development’, a forest with a particular relationship to the land, or closely tied to the life of people, a forest that has been forgotten, or has been ravaged, exploited and its contents expropriated, or even a forest where all the trees have died.
From conversations and sharing our wisdom, we will grow the future possibilities of forests and a global “KIKORI” network to help create a more sustainable relationship with the earth.
