Strategic Planning and World Café

Hi colleagues!

I´ve hosted many World Cafés this last two years in communities and organizations, but a client in Venezuela wants to use TWC to support his Strategic Planning Process and this is new for me.

Has anybody hosted a World Café like this? or has references of this kind of use of TWC?

How can TWC support de Strategic Planning Process in an organization?

Hi Luisa,

Yes yes yes! Chris Corrigan harvested a process flow here - check it out. Also this post of his talks about using a cafe in a strategic planning process.

I'm in the midst of something similar myself - the plan is to have a couple of meetings with a core leadership team (conversation #2 is tomorrow night) then preparing for a World Cafe with the people in their system, then coming back together as the core team to make some decisions on what key actions they'll focus on.

Dear Luisa,

I have facilitated Strategic Planning Processes (many in Brazil and some in the USA) using the World Café, both for small and large groups. It works very well as long as you have the skills in both areas - SPP and TWC in place.

I dis did it working in a team with my client de SP Chief Officer, in a mix with Open Space Techlology and worked very good.
