The World Cafe Community

Hosting Conversations about Questions that Matter

Hi!
I am based in Leeds, in the North of the UK and have been interested in World Cafe since discovering it four years ago. What I loved about the approach was it offered a real alternative to the large scale conferences where a group of experienced people get lectured at by a random assortment of good and often indifferent speakers. The "universally acknowledged truth" is that the best bit of these conferences is the coffee break and bar sessions. I love the way that World Cafe gives me a method to make the coffee break into the conference.
So mostly my work is about organisations and conferences, but I have also used the approach with smaller groups in my community work.
What about you? What do you love about World Cafe? I am looking forward to hearing about how people are using the approach and also what the particular challenges are about using World Cafe in the context of the UK.
