Profile Information

Please indicate your World Café experience (ONLY IF YOU HAVE ACTUAL WORLD CAFE EXPERIENCE) in one or more of the following roles:
Host, Participant
What field is the primary focus of your World Café work (ONLY CHECK AREAS WHERE YOU ARE ALREADY ACTIVELY USING WORLD CAFE PLEASE)?
Health, Education, Online
What knowledge, skills or resources would you like to contribute to the World Café community to help it grow and flourish?
I love building bridges - between NGO's, civil society and policy-makers, between faith communities, between patients and professional caregivers. And I love to witness stories and to experience the releasing of old stories that do not serve us anymore - creating space for new stories to emerge. I am very grateful for all that I have learned from experienced hosts, and I am looking forward to hosting more Cafés on the ground.
I remember hearing Juanita speak about The World Café as a sacred portal to our shared humanity - that was the moment that I knew: this is what I have been searching for so long. I want to support this "movement of movements". I bring to the community: my (slowly developing) skills in hosting online Cafés, my love of beauty-filled online communication... And I am wanting to bring my researcher-skills.
What would you most like to receive from this community?
This community of practice is home for me. And that means a whole lot - home is the place that is warm, welcoming, safe. The place where I can be playful and serious, the place where I can meet new friends - and sit with a bunch of people around the virtual fire.
What haven't we asked that you'd like to share?
I feel honoured that I can support the Impact Jamboree team for some of the online communication, such as posting stories to the StoryNet and to the Impact Map. So, you might see my name on some posts in the upcoming weeks. Looking forward to an amazing time of collecting stories and preparing the Collective Story Harvest!

Hi Michaela,

Thanks for reaching out.  We are just finalizing the venue and date for this event.  This is a partnership between TWC and an organization I am part of here in Philadelphia--Life Planning Network (LPN).  One of our members went to a Wiser Together Cafe in Washington DC last August as part of the Positive Aging Conference.  She came back so inspired and inspired us to create WTWC in Philadelphia.  We have been working with David Isaacs to make this happen.  We should know by next week our confirmed date.  I'll keep the community posted and will post on the calendar when it is confirmed.  We are so excited!

Thank you for your comment Michaela. I started writing my dissertation proposal last week, I am still in the identification stage. Also, a dissertation supervisor has not been assigned to me yet. In May I am supposed to start writing on the dissertation. Around this time I will be able to share the final framework and purpose of my dissertation.

All the best from Manchester,

Thanks, Michaela! What's the best way to share info on here? I'll take a look at the events next week and see if I can make it. Sounds like a great way to get connected to the communities on World Cafe.
