World Cafe Guidelines and Principles

"I will forward this to the dozens of Community Cafes we have going around the country. The combination of visual, music and audio kept my interest. Thank you."

Profile Information

Please indicate your World Café experience (ONLY IF YOU HAVE ACTUAL WORLD CAFE EXPERIENCE) in one or more of the following roles:
Host, Sponsor, Participant
If you are new to the World Cafe, would you please share how you heard about this community?
I have participated in World Cafes as a parent volunteer on several occasions and got the idea for using it to strengthen families from the Illinois Parent Cafe project at a conference sponsored by the Center for the Study of Social Policy. We use Cafes to build community and to help agencies and organziations partner with parents to build protective factors for kids.
What field is the primary focus of your World Café work (ONLY CHECK AREAS WHERE YOU ARE ALREADY ACTIVELY USING WORLD CAFE PLEASE)?
Community
What knowledge, skills or resources would you like to contribute to the World Café community to help it grow and flourish?
Using the World Cafe method to spark leadership to build the relationships necessary to strengthen families in the community. In just 3 years our parent volunteer efforts has grown to dozens of locations around the US including 3 tribes.
What would you most like to receive from this community?
Opportunities to share our learning and to learn from others. Our desire is to share our successes and challenges in the hopes of continuing to improve what we do and to be of service to others who would like to improve their own community.
Would you like to share a Web or Blog address?
http://www.ctfalliance.org
What haven't we asked that you'd like to share?
We have a leadership team of 10 volunteers who work to disseminate this important democratic approach to improving outcomes for children and families. We have partnered with local grass roots organizations, non-profits, schools, the Council for Children and Families and the National Alliance of Children's Trust and Prevention Funds to get our stories out there. We are not owned by a business, non-profit or agency.
