Profile Information

Please indicate your World Café experience (ONLY IF YOU HAVE ACTUAL WORLD CAFE EXPERIENCE) in one or more of the following roles:
Host, Participant, I'm New to the World Cafe
If you are new to the World Cafe, would you please share how you heard about this community?
In 2005 I received an email from Berrett-Koehler promoting the book The World Café. I read the promotion and noted that it was based on principles and qualities of "living systems." I was at the time searching for an additional text for my Organizational Development/Change class(es), which was grounded in complexity science ideas. Long story a little shorter, I read and adopted the book for my "change" classes. I saw--and still see--the WC as a change method exquisitely suited to complexity science approaches to change.
What field is the primary focus of your World Café work (ONLY CHECK AREAS WHERE YOU ARE ALREADY ACTIVELY USING WORLD CAFE PLEASE)?
Education, Corporate, Community
What knowledge, skills or resources would you like to contribute to the World Café community to help it grow and flourish?
I'm coming to the WC community with a fair amount of experience as an OD consultant --generally on the human-processes side--to numerous organizations over a span of almost 30 years. For about that same amount of time I've also worked in higher ed, mainly but not exclusively university schools of business. Over the last 12 years or so my intellectual and consulting interests have turned to complexity science and its implications for organizational change. I hope my experience and background, along with my curiosity about human systems, would help me contribute to the WC community and its growth.
What would you most like to receive from this community?
To learn from the diversity of perspectives and experiences (with change and with life) represented in the members of this community....and to have fun at it.
What haven't we asked that you'd like to share?
Hmmmm...? Nothing comes to mind.

Hey Steve, oh, that's good to hear that you were listening to the Kaos since a few years! Let me know if you want more information or a skype call about it at some point.
What attracted me in the first place was to meet KaosPilots who worked as interns in The Hub in Berlin and to witness their character-depth and skillfulness... it was pure magic character-attraction and i applied before reading anything about the school :)
Please feel free to ask more Steve, i am happy to tell you more. A few days ago i wrote a long reflection about the psychological transformation process i see taking place throughout the KaosPilot education, if you want, you can read it on my blog here.
warm greetings to you,
Benjamin

Hi Steve, welcome to this Community of Learning and Practice.

Wow, you sound like a competent guy now on the OD playground and implications of complexity science! Great, certainly something i'd like to learn more about...

Please feel warmly invited to have a look around in this online space if you find a thread that matches your interest (the search function can be helpful) - and if not please create one, maybe in "Ideas & Passion" or wherever you see it fitting.

Also if you can take the time, it would be nice to read an introduction about yourself here.

Please let me know if i can help you navigating this site,
Benjamin [Global Communications Team]
