In 2007, my undergraduate students at the University of Louisville branch in the Republic of Panama were introduced to the World Cafe Model during a COMM 112 Business and Professional Speaking course. They in turn conducted a conference in the community where the model was introduced to teachers, professors, and others.

The subsequent year we held a "community" World Cafe online in the free forum in the Nicenet Conferencing Topic: Online World Café TABLES 1 & 2: for the Summer 2008 Institute which was held in conjunction with a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Conference activity in Panama, Republic of Panama.

Since then the model has been used at other TESOL Conferences, Institutes and classes. Now one of my former students (MA in TESOL) is preparing to share the model in Costa Rica. We would like to see the Republic of Panama added to the World Cafe map. Please let us know what we need to do. Thanks. God Blessings for all the great work in opening up communication throughout the world.

Welcome, Toni!

What an inspiring story you tell! We'd love to have it on the World Cafe "global impact map" - please send it to us using the format and contact details listed on that page, and I'll be sure to get it up right away.

Meanwhile, please introduce yourself to the rest of community here - I know everyone would love to meet you! - and share your story on StoryNet. Please make yourself at home, and let me know how I can help. There are some tips here.

Warmly,

Amy
