Hosting Conversations about Questions that Matter
I recently interviewed Kazuo Katori, a key World Café steward in Japan & founder of Mindechoe, about the monthly "World Cafe Evenings he has been hosting to support his regional community and respond to interest about the World Cafe there.
Here is a link to download the audio file form our interview, followed by a written summary that Kazu sent earlier.

Mindechoe has been hosting a series of the World Café events since the beginning of last year under the name of “The World Café Evening”.
The purpose of The World Café Evening is to provide opportunities for those who want to experience the World Café. Recently the World Café has become quite popular among various sectors in Japanese business as well as communities, and many people talk about the benefits and attractiveness of such conversational methods. But as it becomes popular many people want to know where they can experience the World Café by themselves. So Mr.Katori, president of Mindechoe, decided to provide opportunities to sample the taste of the World Café for them”
Mindechoe is hosting the World Café Evening event regularly once every month. Anyone can join the event with the cost of \500, so that it is often called “One Coin World Café”.
So far most of the participants have been Japanese. But Mindechoe wants to have more diverse participants. Working language is Japanese but there are many English speaking Japanese participants who can support non-Japanese speaking participants.
Topics discussed at The World Café Evening so far include the following:
・Diversity
・Globalization
