Hi again,

here is the recording of our Online Café from Saturday evening. Thanks to Kriss Wittmann for the great recording!

And here are some impressions from the physical context of the European Salon:

The Rax mountains, seen from our hotel room (a room with a view ...). The building in front is the conference area of the hotel where we met for the Salon.

And here is another view of the river Schwarza and the mountains in the wonderful evening light yesterday afternoon.

So now is really the time to leave Reichenau.

Let us stay in touch for conversations that matter.

Ulrich
Ah, Ulrich! Thank you so much for your masterful weaving over the last many months and your generous eye in sharing these photos of the European Salon and the environment that held us so beautifully...

I loved working with you and the other incredible people in our group who stepped up to co-lead in this dynamic model of evolving dialogue, inspired leadership and the sweet connected "new face" of community.

Amy
Dear Amy,

I suppose you're back in Richmond by now ... Thanks for coming over and joining the European Salon in Reichenau!

I have left Reichenau full of experiences, and new and renewed friendships! I am looking forward to tell and share the emerging story of the European Salon together.

Ulrich
Hi all,
This material is SO georgeous and evocative. I'm glad it was a good experience for all and I look forward to hearing more as you all reflect on it's meanings and possibilities.
With fond regards and best wishes,
Juanita
Dear all,

do you have the impression sometimes that time is just flying? It's more than 6 weeks now that the first in-person meeting of the European Salon took place in Reichenau.

Preparing the documentation is not an easy job. While the main documentation is still work in progress, find enclosed another element of documentation. The first evening of the Salon we hosted a Welcome Café. It's main purpose was to introduce ourselves to each other for setting the stage. We were setting the stage also in methodological ways: Introducing one of a variety of formats to allow for experiential learning in combination with a Café setting.

For introducing ourselves we answered one question: What attracts me to the European Salon? The answer was not given verbally, but with the help of a photograph that should tell a story about the person's intent.

During the Café we presented our pictures to the other persons at each table. After finishing the presentations we took a moment of silence to find the right title for each photograph. Finally, we shared our pictures and their titles with the whole group.

This process of using photography as an experienatial approach to make meaning visible is called SecondView. I have developed this method together with my friend Andreas Katz a few years ago. For further information on the method (in German), have a look at www.secondview.eu.

Find enclosed a documentation on the SecondView opening during the European Salon. Your feedback here is welcome! If you have the sensation to have missed something valuable: Be part of the next European Salon planning team! No application forms needed ...

Cheers, Ulrich

P.S.: This is my answer to the question: What attracts me to the European Salon?. The title is: Together for the kids!
