If you are new to the World Cafe, would you please share how you heard about this community?

I was introduced to The World Cafe as a participant at the Pegasus Communications Systems Thinking in Action conference - likely in Atlanta in November 1999. The conference applied as a foundation the cafe at its core - so when I arrived to my first conference the ballroom was set with cafe tables of four and the keynote speakers each shared their stories, experiences and insights with a deliberate acknowledgement that there was wisdom in the room. We were invited to explore questions that matter together at our tables as part of the learning experience, It was magical and transformational and I am extremely grateful for this introduction in my twenties to a power-FULL and meaning-FULL approach to cultivating collective intelligence. It has made all the difference in the world to me and my practice :D THANKS!

What knowledge, skills or resources would you like to contribute to the World Café community to help it grow and flourish?

I suppose one of the most valuable gifts I may be able to offer is the experiences I have had at moving from apprentice to journeyer to master host. I have used this beautiful and nourishing method in a variety of interesting situations: launch of a progressive policy think tank, youth environmental summit, leadership capacity development, community building, as a resource for sustainability, to support strategic alignment and understanding with national community of lawyers to name a few. It has been delicious learning about my own ability to stand for this method as a robust and effective method for providing a systemic experience to participants. I love The World CAfe - so I am also happy to share my passion and enthusiasm for the work - and finally, I suppose I can also provide some ideas and insight into how to position the business value of a cafe.

What would you most like to receive from this community?

Opportunities to co-host and co-create experiences for masterful and wise application of the World Cafe. I'd like to work with leaders and organizations interested in exploring the profound impact of creating possibility and action together! :D

Well - a few hats I wear that I am proud of and excite and challenge me right now are: lead of my own firm, The Learning Catalyst (Focused on helping organizations prosper financially, socially and environmentally), part of a leadership team with Leadership Ottawa (cultivating leadership for a healthy and powerful community), Professor of Green Business Management Post-grad certificate at Algonquin College (cultivating green leaders today... for tomorrow), Vice Chair of Equal Voice National Capital Chapter (getting more women elected! in all levels of government in all parties), and part of Real Conversations Cooperative (bringing new energy, methods and approaches to life)!
