Hi Amy, could you answer a quick question please? What does it mean when you click "Featured" when posting a conversation in your group. Where does the post 'feature'. Having fun with it and thx in advance. Janine

Hi Amy!

Thanks for your warm welcome and your invitation to join World Cafe Online. I just did. I was waiting to experience my first WorldCafe which I did last Saturday at the BAODN, which hosted the 'Women in Leadership' session World Cafe style. It was amazing !

Hope to connect with you one of these days.

Thanks!
Subashree.

Hi Amy!

Thanks for the invitation! I'll get there right away. Let's see if I can get enough time to join the conversation, though (busy weeks!!). :O I'm really glad to meet other people with similar interests and learn from other experiences.

Thank you Amy. Is this site replacing The World Cafe website?

BTW I'm very excited to be hosting David Korten in Berkeley on October 17. He is the author of When Corporations Rule the World, The Great Turning, Agenda for a New Economy, and other books. He is a deep thinker, social activist, and visionary with insights to share that will help all of us move through this Great Turning we are experiencing on a global level. Everyone in TWC Community is warmly welcome! David Korten

Amy, thanks for your message. It would indeed be good to exchange views on virtual cafes... May be fun to align our definitions... I ran a virtual leadership meeting with 80 global leaders spread across the world. The worldcafe process was at the core of the event... and I would describe it as on-line. I will be travelling in US timezones for most of November. Maybe we can hook up over the phone around that time.

Amy, Thanks for contacting me. I first got interested in dialogue when I was working as an OD Consultant at Digital in 1990. My work is in the private sector in UK where I work in OD and Leadership Development. I have only made contact with one other person around here ( well in Dublin) who has hosted a world cafe event Eamon O'Callaghan. Fascinating that there is such a low profile her in UK. I have a client who is interested in running a world cafe so hopefully I will have an opportunity soon...in Financial Services Sector in London. It woudl be great to run world cafe in community/not for profit sector as well. It woudl also be great t attend an event, ideally before I facilitate one but not essential. I look forward to staying in touch
Kind regards
John

Hi Amy,
The Circle Practicum was really an opportunity to slow dow and listen to others deeply. It really is that simple. I don't know if that fully answers it for you.
What has your experience with Circle been? Have your read Christina's book?

Thanks Amy,
Me too. Currently I am very busy to set up a kind of Sustainability outdoor training at Outward Bound Hong Kong. After finishing it I am very much looking forward to share the experience with TWC community, and get to know the people better.

I am thinking about it, Amy. There is a confluence of connection and events going on.
1. Michael's gone and I'm feeling both lost and wide-open at the same time about what's next for me. So I'm paying attention to what is calling...

2. I had a very powerful experience with the online cafe call.

3. Recently I had a voicemail from 3 people who were friends of mine when I lived in Somalia (25 years ago...). They now work for UNDP and WHO in Geneva.

4. 2 weeks ago I was contacted by one of my 5th grade students from when I taught in Beirut, Lebanon (35+ years ago...). She lives in Geneva as well and has asked me to come for a visit.

5. I am in conversation with a colleague who is in Europe and we are talking about collaborating. Might be good to have some face-time.

But I don't know yet. I'll have to trust regarding space...

Also, could you give me some idea of how the online portion of the conference will work -- to help me in my discernment process?

Thanks, Dear One!!!

Barbara

Is it possible for me to attend the Vienna Salon -- if that felt like the "right" next step for me?

I recently attended the Circle Practicum on Whidbey Island hosted by Christina and Ann. Learning to hold the rim, the deep discussion and story telling has created a whole new depth to my life. I highly recommend the Circle Practicum to all. At some point I will bring Circle to my clients/friends/city. But I need to take baby steps first.

I am here because of you and your capacity to catalyze sweetness. I know you believe in the transformative power of the online community. So, here I am to become a believer. You have always been a remarkable catalyst for me as a writer. I wonder if this place, with your hands and hearts as its creator will do the same.
