Hosting Conversations about Questions that Matter
Big companies, NGO’s, ordinary people of any kind are setting personal goals and aims based on what their vision for life is.
People and companies use coaching, appreciative inquiry,
visualizations and other cutting edge tools and methodologies in order
to accomplish incredible results.
Whatever the tool is, the VISION is the starting point of the
development process. Later on apart from the top management team, other
employees are introduced to the same company vision and values in order
to contribute and align their energies with the energies of other in
the organization.
On the web sites of the largest multinationals, small and medium
sized companies, schools etc. the front pages are stating what the
vision of that organization is.
It is my conclusion that personal vision is useful thing and corporate vision is also very powerful and guiding thing to have.
So, Individuals have VISION and companies have it because it works.
Than I switch the TV or read on the web for the latest news in the
world and look at the news from Davos, Copenhagen, Europe, China, USA
and so on, and I have a sense that one very important vision is not
present and it is so much needed.
That is why I ask this question.
Does the planet have a global planetary vision?
Presidents and prime ministers are not talking about what the global vision is.
Sometimes they talk about their countries vision, so you can hire Americas vision, European vision, etc.
Here and there they talk about the vision for the banking systems
and the economy, the environment and some other current burning global
issues. These talks looks to me like a fire fights and problem fixing
rather than a solid, concrete global vision. Surely, environment and
economy are important but that is not all we need and care for on the
planet.
My research is taking me to Google search where I type WORLD VISION.
The several first links that come are connecting me to humanitarian
organizations who are doing great jobs helping children and promoting
Christianity world wide.
Is this it?, I am asking my self? Is this all I get when wanting to
know what the current global vision is. I am not satisfied with what I get out of my search.
I would like to know where exactly we are aiming as humanity on this planet?
Than, I visit the UN website, and there I find something more
interesting. The UN has named 8 key issues (goals) as the Milenium
Development Goals (MDG) to be accomplished by year 2015.
They are closest to what I believe the World Vision should look
like. Still nobody is talking loud about the MDG. Have you heard a
president or prime minister to mention them? Mine is not talking about
them.
So where are we really aiming as humanity on the planet?
and
Is there such a thing as Global Vision?
