Please indicate your World Café experience (ONLY IF YOU HAVE ACTUAL WORLD CAFE EXPERIENCE) in one or more of the following roles:
Host
If you are new to the World Cafe, would you please share how you heard about this community?
Fielding Graduate University; communique from Amy Lenzo and completing the hosting fundamentals program!
What field is the primary focus of your World Café work (ONLY CHECK AREAS WHERE YOU ARE ALREADY ACTIVELY USING WORLD CAFE PLEASE)?
Education, Community
What knowledge, skills or resources would you like to contribute to the World Café community to help it grow and flourish?
Hosting local and online WCs focused on (1) people at midlife [a] with eating disorders (those who may be in their process of discovery, recovery, and beyond) and [b] aging with attention to wellbeing, longevity, and creating life-enriching space, (2) approaches to infuse, adopt, or create contemplative practices, (3) "working together"--intergenerational efforts hosting a series on 'Spanning Boundaries' (getting beyond 'Ok, Boomer'), and (4) professional development strategies. I have introduced cafe/summit strategy with doctoral students in social entrepreneurship (cafe/summit topics have included community engagement, social entrepreneurship--role of SE, mental health, needs of underserved populations (e.g., food insecurity, housing insecurity, education); and with master's students focused on topics that include: collaboration, change, design and future thinking, identifying 'gaps' and needs. Classes are an opportunity to introduce WC principles and technique--where I 'host' students in learning 'hosting skills' and realize ways to apply in their world(s).
What would you most like to receive from this community?
Learning resources, [new] tools or techniques to apply; learn from others creating opportunities for application. Best practices for online WCs.
Would you like to share a Web or Blog address?
http://oyapathfinding.com
What haven't we asked that you'd like to share?
Currently, I am also a Fellow with the Institute for Social Innovation (at FGU) where I am continuing my research focused on women in midlife experiencing eating disorders--exploring their introduction to, adoption of, and continued infusion (or diversification) of contemplative practices. Looking forward to working with several faculty within the creative longevity and wisdom concentration at FGU and practitioners within identified associations to contribute to and help build this area of research and cultivation of practices.

Hi Jamesena...

Great to see you here and I'm also a Fellow at the Fielding ISI and am happy to welcome you as well to the community! Hope you'll also join the community table as there will be lots of exciting things happening over there. And I love the work you are doing and I love your interest in intergenerational efforts--what we've called Wiser Together, as well.

With warm best wishes,

Juanita

Welcome, Jamesena!

You've joined us during a really exciting time because we are moving from this space to a new community site called The Community Table.

We have launched a new subscription model that's a perfect match with the gifts and interests you describe in your profile response.

The Community Table not only gives tremendous value to the World Cafe community and the wider networks in which we work but it also gives those who can a chance to "give back" in support of our international community, still growing after 25 years.

Here's a link for more details about this new initiative.

We are very pleased to have you with us now and hope you will choose to take your seat at the new Community Table. As you'll see in the page linked above, we've priced the subscription fee to be very accessible for most folks in the international community, but if this is not the case for you we are no less happy to welcome you. Money is not the determining factor -if you want to join us, just send a quick email to [email protected] letting us know what works for you, and we'll make sure you are in right away.

In the meantime, I'm here for any questions you might have.

I hope to see you in the Community Table!

Warmly,

Amy
