I'm excited to announce that several of your World Cafe friends are inviting Michelle Obama to engage the country in a national network of citizen conversations, using World Cafe and other dialogue methods such as Open Space Technology and Appreciative Inquiry. Please visit our new Promise USA blog and be sure to post your comments so that Michelle can see the groundswell of support.
I'm curious about the kinds of issues and question those of us in the World Cafe community would like to bring into a nation-wide conversation in the US ...
And perhaps even more importantly than what issues we would bringing forward, I'm wondering how we might make this a conversation that matters. By which I mean bringing everyone who needs to be there to the table, and putting the focus on deep listening and looking for patterns and links in what we are hearing, rather than focusing on getting our points across, etc..
That's the real excitement of this opportunity to me...
What do others think this opportunity might offer? What would others see as the key pieces - whether topics or guiding principles - to bring to the conversation?
If you appreciate the World Café and what this community space makes possible, please make your contribution - large or small - to the World Café Community Foundation now.
