A post-capitalist world is not only possible but millions engaged in the various organizational and social transformation movements around the world are actively working on the transition to it. One of the most potent emerging visions of that new world is a commons-based society.

Yes it was a long time ago. I left UC Berkeley in 1983, did some other interesting things, then started my coaching, facilitation and consulting practice in 1986. Nice to see you here.

I totally agree with your idea of the hosts of transformational Ning sites getting together. That's one of my fondest hopes and in fact the presence of others in the field was one of the main reasons we chose Ning over other platforms.

Interestingly, I saw a not-very-much-changed version of my "12 Ways" text on the front page of a new Village People (Learning Villages) Ning site - attributed to someone else! :-) Cracked me up... and made me even more thankful for your integrity and care in crediting me for the one you did.

Warmly,

Amy

Dear George
We are happy to see you’ve joined our growing online community. If you’d like to join our European Salon to explore the topic: “Dialogue & Leadership: The New Face of Community?” we’d certainly be pleased to have you.

We’ll be meeting from Oct. 16 to 19 at Hotel Marienhof, Reichenau an der Rax, about an hour south west of Vienna. See: http://www.dialogueandleadership.eu/

We’ve succeeded in holding the costs lower for those who sign up by the 25th of August. To see more, please visit http://www.theworldcafecommunity.org/events/european-salon-dialogue

If you have any questions, please get back to me.
Over a cup of steaming coffee,
Charles

Welcome, George! How delightful that you've found us.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback about the new platform.

Ashley Cooper has started a wonderful thread on "being World Cafe online" that you might be interested in, and perhaps you will help us "seed" this space (as you may have noticed, we're still in Beta, with a small group gathered to help prepare it for the larger community) by writing a blog post about your work connecting the World Cafe and Presencing Institute, or something else that calls to you.

By the way, you can run a RSS feed from one of your other blogs to your home page here, which will be great and let others see more of your work.
