Hi John,
I apologize for my late response but I was waiting for a scheduled conference call with my colleagues before I could reply. I was excited at the possibility of collaborating with you and your colleagues at the Active Aging Conference in LA in December. As you know time and resources are precious. After having discussed the opportunities at the conference for our project, Janet, Moira and I decided to concentrate our on-going planning efforts here in Europe. However I am very interested in the recommendations and results of the conference! How about arranging a call in January 2011 to exchange thoughts? It would be great to touch base personally. All the best for a very successful conference. I look forward to hearing all about it early next year. Warm regards from Munich, Pat

Hey John! I don't see you on the list for this Thursday's WC call so I guess you've got a conflict. Maybe next time. I have a couple of threads up on this site about the questions--I'd be grateful if you could offer your thoughts.

Hi, John. I'm embarrassed that this invitation has been sitting out here since April! Apologies for my tardiness.

I guess I mean more what do you physically do with the results. I have transcribed them and sorted by question and then written summaries of the major themes. I photograph the artwork and incorporate it into the summary. That seems like the logical way to use the results, but have you seen any other way?

Plan on it.

Tell me what you do to follow-up on Cafe sessions generally. What do you do with the comments received? Where does it go from there?

Dear John: I am keeping up with your page. It occurs to me that
as a great grandmother in this country and a great aunt in Canada
I have my own intergenerational conversation (co-generational)
within my own family in two countries!; and am privileged to
be in dialogue with many across the world. Blessings, Anne, Elder, TWC.

Love to John. I will also try to get a teleconference before just so people from the area can touch base with each other. Would you be interested in participating?

Good morning John. Thank you for the friend request. I'm delighted to accept. I am also on an educational journey - a year into my graduate degree at Pepperdine. I applaud you for taking the step to do your PhD. I've heard amazing things about the Fielding program. I'm looking forward to conversations and connections with this community.

Hi, John,
No, I don't think I saw your previous comment because I haven't been checking this social networking site very regularly. So sorry. I didn't attend the conference in Boston, so I don't believe we've ever met. It's interesting that you say I look familiar. Many people whom I've never met tell me that. I must have the most common face on the planet! I noticed in your comments that you're starting a PhD. Good for you! I'm 58 and two thirds finished with a master's program in OD at the University of San Francisco. It's an interesting journey to be doing this in my 50s. I'm very happy to be finally fulfilling this dream. I joined the World Cafe online community partly to find people (hopefully in the San Francisco Bay Area) with whom I can partner to get some practice with World Cafe. I learned the technique at a workshop by Christine Whitney Sanchez a few years ago and really love it -- along with Open Space Technology and Appreciative Inquiry. But, I've been busy with school and my change management consulting work and haven't had opportunities yet to use WC.

Would love to have conversations around what will be a life changing experience. I am starting my PhD in September. I will be attending Fielding Graduate University and earning my PhD in Human and Organization Systems. Juanita has been an inspiration to me in my interest in research including World Cafe work and in my choice of Fielding. Thank you Juanita. I also want to give special thanks to Dave for helping me to embrace my elderhood and to Tom for the feedback to quit looking outside of myself for answers that I can and should find inside. All three have a hand in my decision to move ahead with my PhD and let go of my doubts and commit. I am confident that I can and will make a significant difference in this world and am very excited to continue my journey.
