that would be great - always looking for good stuff! Also want to connect with you sometime about a possible joint effort with ABCD. Let's plan email or skype...

Deb, I don't know if it's still available but if you like, I can check back in with them.

Christine - nice article. At the end of the article, it mentions a packet about using Open Space that the Girl Scouts have put together for people to use at home. do you know if that packet is available?

I just discovered that a nice little article about Open Space meetings at the Girl Scout National Conventions was published at "Connect Your Meetings".

What a great idea, Luis! Meg Wheatley is also at this conference and will be likely to do that as well. And I've been taking nature photos for many years.

Nature's wisdom is, indeed, unbeatable!

I wouul start your conference on images of living systems, of all types, I like to connect people with astonishing images that are naturally connected to us. Nature´s wisdom is undebatable.
"I fhere were leaders in nature, what would those leaders be doing to let the system work at its best?

I do certainly like the term transpersonal leader. I like the roots of it connected with his/her sense of the whole.
It is naturés wisdom. Humans ty to separate in areas or depaartments, that, which is part of the whole. Fragmentations that seem unnatural if compared with nature. We need to learn more chemistry, biology, to be able to help people connect with their true being, which always is connected with the whole.
Are leaders prepared to face a spiritual approach to thir role?
Thanks for your past comments...

Donna, I once created a grid that showed four types of leadership - Positional Leadership, Community/Regional Stewardship, Servant Leadership and Transpersonal Leadership. I wrote:

Transpersonal Leaders are able to operate from beyond (trans) the level of their personality (personal). They are able to do this because they have developed a sense of self that includes but is not limited to a healthy ego and a skillful social self. Transpersonal Leaders draw their identity from the whole, realizing that everything is related to and affects everything else.

It is possible for a person to be a Positional Leader, who acts as a Regional Steward and comes from the orientation of a Servant Leader. Transpersonal Leaders embody all of the above while putting awakened consciousness in the driver’s seat. They realize that, as a leader they have an unusual degree of power to project on other people their shadow or their light and are therefore, seriously engaged in Personal Mastery.

I love your reference to Otto's A transpersonal leader inspires while deflecting the focus from herself and encourages collaboration so that everyone is focused on what they want on the “canvas,” see their contribution in working towards it, and take pride and ownership in the result.

I've seen you in action as a transpersonal leader, Donna.

Ria, I would love a deeper conversation!

For many years, I've been witnessing a few of friends of mine who I consider to be transpersonal leaders. Although they aren't operating beyond ego all of the time, they have built reflective practices into their organizations and have indeed become hosts ongoing process. In fact, they actually use a blend of our methods in their day-to-day operations as well as in their official corporate meetings.

You are so right that we could fill a whole ning site with this conversation. If you would like to Skype early next week I'm christinewhitneysanchez.

Warm wishes from the glow of sunset in Phoenix,
Christine

Then leadership becomes a host of an ongoing process, like hosting Open Space - constantly... all the skills from Wave Riders are at play then...
