BTW, I have found that Facebook is a much better place to check in with those who possibly have been out of touch. If someone is able to get a message out and they are social networkers, Facebook is one of the first places they post that they are OK.

Concern and Support for the People of Japan

I know this is a very difficult time of rescue and recovery from the destruction in Japan. The incredible power of Nature once again reveals how small and fragile humans are. What can people in the World Cafe do to support and assist those who are displaced? Have we heard from the cafe in Japan?

A Group for Writers and a Group for Photographers

Well, I submitted ideas for these two groups and received no response from WC, so I thought I would float the ideas in this blog teacup.

If there are writers who would like to share their published books, articles and blogs, feel free to share them here on my blog. I would be happy to host a "Non-Group" of Authors! And the same for a "Non-Group" of Photographers. We could all learn from each other's images from around the (shaky) blue globe.

Hallowed Days or Hollow Days?

Here they are again: those days where this group or that group tell their stories of their tribe. Some beautiful legends and images of light, liberation and love. For each tribe a comforting recycling of their ancient myths reminding them they are special (and their cafe sells the best, most sustainable beverage).

These "holydays" now drive economies of whole nations, with families, towns and companies dependent on the products and the cash generated by the Great Green (money)…

Thank you very much for your warm commnet. Although we have faced the tragedy, it reminded us of the importance of the social capital at the same time. Now people are helping with each other more than ever here in Japan, and we really appreciate the savings and prays from all over the world. Japan will be restored again!
