If you are in Europe, don't miss Chris and Sabine's workshop. (I have seen Chris in action). If you are interested in something (slightly different) in Canada, Michelle Laurie have one as well. See http://www.fullcirc.com/2011/01/06/graphic-facilitation-workshop-ju... I love that these practices are growing and spreading!

Hi All - This looks like a wonderful group, and I'm looking forward to participating. There is a great resource on harvesting in the World Cafe book - it's a whole chapter in there with many fantastic ideas.
Looking forward to being in dialogue with you all,
Kelly

Dear Sabine.
I would love to be on the call. I am waiting to hear from someone about a former commitment at that time. If I am able to be on, I too can do some recording. What I did before, Ria, was take photos of my journal and send them that way. Between us I am sure we could capture the essence of the call. I will let you know if I can attend. Hugs. Lisa

Dear Sabine,
and all others;
If you haven't found anybody by now, I could help out. Although I wouldn't know how to record digitally...
With love,
Ria

Dear graphic recorder, for our second online community World Café on sunday, the 27th of June - 9:30-11:30am PST, 12:30-2:30pm EST, 6:30-8:30pm Central European Time - we are looking for somebody who would like to support the harvesting with graphic recordings! One possibility could be to do the recordings digitally , so people could see on their computer how the recordings are developing during the dialogs. This would be fantastic! Please contact me here in the online community. The recordings will be posted in the inquiry group.
Best wishes, Sabine

Yikes!!! So I finally have the opportunity to host a World Cafe. The question is around developing a community of practice for a group of professionals- what does a community of practice look like? 40 participants- 2 hours.

My query is about ways to harvest and present the collective wisdom of the participants. I was thinking that after three rounds of sharing, participants would return to the table from which they had launched on their voyage of inquiry. There they would craft, with the host, a narrative, a story from the drawings, doodles and writings as well as the host's recollections of the conversations at the table. Each of the eight tables would present their narratives in 2 minutes or less using one flip chart panel for illustration.

Once the narratives had been presented participants would be asked to pick out common and diverse themes that appeared in the stories. These themes would be used as criteria for actionable initiatives ( captured in an affinity diagram) to carry forward the next steps in the development of a community of practice- the goal of the whole exercise.

My concern here is the amount of time available to do this. I am looking for feedback on this approach and any other suggestions that experienced hosts may wish to share. My appreciative Thank You in advance.
