I saw your name listed in the Meet the Fellows for this year. And, yes, Spanning Generations is my spin on the Working Together model and ideas. I have also taken advantage of the materials from the NCDD and infused applications in org behavior and org systems courses. Looking forward to learning more applications, sharing and helping the WC community, and continuing to host others in learning and feeling comfortable with hosting.
In addition to a few ideas I have for using WC and proAction cafe, I am also exploring creating circles or cafe for women 40+ experiencing eating disorders and their process of recovery, wellbeing, and mindful living! I will be looking for ideas on how to best create the space for that (face2face and online).

I'm in pickle right now. Will be hosting a WC experience for The Philanthropy Summit - for 250-300 participants - in October. I've never hosted a WC and the details are becoming a bit elusive. Trying to get a graphic recorder in contract and Summit planning committee asking me how exactly how she'll record so much in real time. That aside, question for you that maybe you can help me determine: with that large a group, more effective to ask one question with three rounds of 15-20 min - then good 45 mins of harvesting - or 2 questions of 10 min rounds and maybe 20 min harvesting each question? Any help/advice appreciated. I'm on my way to Italy for vacation in 2 days so hoping to resolve some of these details before then. ¡Gracias!
Juanita gracias por tu cálida bienvenida! No te disculpes por tu español, me encantaría saber como va tu proyecto de comunidad que compartiste en el curso con Martin y Rowan! Cariños
Sade Moon said… Good Morning Juanita, I work both as an organizer in the community and as a project manager for a nonprofit working on Paid leave.
I joined world cafe because I really want to use this method to facilitate a conversation between 40 of our network members on Paid leave. I would love to connect to see how I can best frame questions and guidance for harvesting.
For example, should I have 8 tables, with 8 questions for 3 rounds? I have 3 hrs to plan. How do I facilitate the harvest portion...so many questions
Anyways, Im getting in the weeds. Thank you for welcoming me! What type of organizing do you do, I would love to learn more about you.

Thanks for the response. Basically invitational rhetoric promotes "understanding" rather than "persuasion" as the ultimate objective of rhetoric (dialogue).
By using Invitational rhetoric as the basis of my social media site, I'm hoping to foster UNDERSTANDING rather than persuasion as the goal of dialogue involving heated social issues/topics.

Very excited about adding this to our Conference programs. First one looks to be in Cairo in July for our CSX Cybersecurity Nexus 1-day conference where we'll use video from the US conference as the impetus to discuss the problem - and the way forward. AND, we may be doing this again in November in Singapore. More soon - and I really look forward to being a part of this awesome community...and keeping in touch.
Best Regards,
Michael
