Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum and I'm very interested in joining the discussions.  I am currently the CEO of a national Canadian charity and I'm taking my master's degree in leadership from Royal Roads U in Victoria.  I am very curious about the world cafe that was created at Air Canada as a colleague of mine is in the leadership circle that is trying to transform leadership at AC and I know she would love to engage in the discussions. Marxe Urteaga  can you expand on that?  I would love to pass along the information.  I look forward to further discussion.

Warmly, Kimberly

…Do you have a vision, an idea, a big plan or a project that could benefit from fresh insights or inspiration?

…Are you interested in hearing about projects and ideas being generated by others? Are you willing to share your story, knowledge, experiences, insights, and questions?

…Would you like to co-learn with others how to best use Pro Action Café to help ideas make the leap to action?

The Pro Action Café is an innovative yet simple methodology for hosting conversations about questions and projects that matter to the people that attend. These conversations link and build on each other as people move between groups, cross-¬‐pollinate ideas, and discover new insights into the questions or issues that are most important in their life, work or community.

Participants tabling their projects often leave with new inspiration and ideas to help move their project forward. And all participants have the opportunity to learn and engage in creative conversation.

Hi everyone,

I'm just checking in, wondering how are you. I hope everyone is doing great and enjoying this beautiful autumn. I would like to share with you a some projects I've been involved in.

First,  the amazing experience my husband and I had using Graphic Recording during the Global Socio-Technical Systems conference in Montreal: I learned about graphic recording during the World Cafe sessions and it really became important in our practice.

Second, I helped a friend to design her World Cafe process with Air Canada, an on-going project since May 2014. I've asked her for a brief summary and some pictures to add them here, but in the meantime, I can say that the initiative has been a success and people are enjoying meaningful dialogue in different cities.

Finally, I'm almost done translating the Art of Hosting website to Spanish. It has been a long project, but really interesting. I'm happy to have more resources available for Spanish speakers.

I found this beautiful poem in our Art of Hosting booklet and I wanted to share it with you:

I will keep the fire in my heart

With the bright face of the moon as my witness
Friends, I promise you
That I will keep the fire in my heart.
I will lean into that fire
Even if it melts the soles of my shoes
Even if it singes my hair and blackens my fingers
I will not stop
For our humanity is at stake.
There, in the centre of the fire, there where we have always met
Are the embers the wise ones have sheltered on our behalf.
What we have always known, long in the forgetting
Is rising through the flames again.
It takes those of us who are the firekeepers,
Who are the rocksitters, who have the circle in our blood and bone
To make the shape that calls the others home.
We have hidden the patterns in our stories, our poems, our songs
In the deepest parts of our being.
And we will speak, we will sing, we will dance our way
Even now the plazas beckon. Even now the squares call out
For life lived in its fullest expression.
You who have been solitary, you who have been alone
Remember this word:
- Mary Alice Arthur

Hi everyone....

Welcome Chiara!   It's great to see you, too, Marcelita and I hope all is going well for you in Montreal.  I still think so fondly of our time together in Brazil.  And I'm excited to hear about the "Twitter Cafes"  -- how fun!

Con mucho carino,

Hello Marxe,

I am new to this online community, but not new at all to holding world cafés. I have participated and organized many. Similar to the Weave document you sent. I simply wanted to say thank you so much for posting this document. It's well put together. It's a gem to practitioners. Thank you! And it's so lovely that you are in Montreal. I am wondering if you are available for a chat on line or in person. I am originally from Montreal, currently living in the Eastern Townships (Knowlton).

Look forward to hearing from you.
