Hi everyone, I'm a blossoming facilitator of Open Space and World Cafe seeking opportunities to get more ACTUAL experience of either or both of these approaches. I am open to recieving any suggestions or ideas for how I might contribute my hosting skills whilst on this side of the world, in a voluntarily or paid capacity. My…

I thought some folks in the World Cafe community would be interested in something we've been working on at NCDD these past couple weeks (NCDD is the Nat'l Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation, if you're not familiar with it).
NCDD members have been sharing insights and tips–on our listservs and in various op-eds, blog posts, and more–on how legislators can engage citizens in ways that are more participatory and more…

As a budding entrepreneur committed to building a vibrant consulting practice, I am bursting with spaces and places that The World Cafe and other hosting methods can create magic. Without a steady client base, I'm working most days writing proposals and communicating with potential clients - with satisfactory success. I spend time envisioning all the wonderful people and groups I will encounter on my journey and am excited to experience as it all unfolds. Having said that, I would welcome wise…

I find myself in New Mexico, doing some work with friends FireHawk and Pele on their teachers WindEagle and RainbowHawk's land. It's a beautiful place, bordering a mighty canyon where it's like you're looking over the edge of the world into the heart of things.
So, we're here getting ready for what is to be a wonderful gathering, preparing for the people in all those magical ways one creates hospitable space, and the stars are doing their…

First step - an oath of non violence.
Second Step - learn and teach PO by using it.
Third step - up-to your creative intelligence that we ought to support world wide.
Such is the role of the World Peace Posse.
Our next step is to educate the corporate elite in how to be socially responsible with their business.
Those who might give $10 million dollars - do they have bragging rights - when their gross sales are $14 billion. Help me - I have trouble with…

Integrated Asset Services (www.iasreo.com) today released its IAS360™ House Price Index (HPI). Based upon the timeliest and most granular data available in the industry, the index for national house prices moved ahead another 1.2% in June.
With June’s gains--the fourth consecutive positive month--the U.S. housing benchmark advanced 2.7% for full second quarter 2009, virtually offsetting the 2.6% decline across the first three months…

With excitement I share with you all that I will be hosting a World Cafe for a group of 75-100 educators from across British Columbia, Canada this October. This will be the first event I've hosted with a large group and it will take place in a school gymnasium/classrooms. Please share your stories with me about hosting your first large event - I would love the inspiration!

I particularly want to call in, appreciate, and send love to our Foundation team: David, Juanita, Tom, Amy, Barbara. It has been almost fifteen amazing and wonderful years, and, with Amy's expert help, our community is now able to meet face to face and conversation by conversation in this new online community space. Soon, there will be no place on earth that does not have a host, calling others in to conversation, creating hospitable space, stewarding life in to being: the world continues to be…

Hi I'd like for any and everyone to feel free to comment on this question. Where do we see our country heading in the next 60 moths (5 years) it feels to me that we are not really on stable grounds and I know there is talk of rebuilding a strong economy and rebuilding a stronger America, but have we run out of time as a nation??

I'm about to fly to Brazil to carry on education development in their state school system. What a challenge! Channelling resources and expertise within such need is a daunting task - but, why not me and why not now? I've been struck by how often we can desire a reason to join in, a 'word' from someone, permission from the boss. If I don't get involved who will? I feel like that proverbial drop in the ocean but I think other drops just may join in and, who knows, we may have a trickle, a stream,…
